How to Use the Online Notepad & Pomodoro Timer

  1. Write in the Notepad. Click New note, start typing, and everything saves automatically to your browser. Create as many notes as you like and switch between them in the sidebar.
  2. Format and search. Toggle Markdown preview to see formatted text, use Find & Replace to edit quickly, and adjust font size or line wrapping to taste.
  3. Focus with Pomodoro. Switch to the timer, set your focus and break lengths, and press Start. The ring counts down and alerts you when each session ends.
  4. Export anything. Download a note as .txt or .md, print it, or back up every note to a JSON file you can restore later.

What Is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time-management method that breaks work into focused intervals — traditionally 25 minutes — separated by short breaks. After about four focus sessions you take a longer break. The idea is simple: a ticking countdown creates gentle urgency, and the regular breaks keep your mind fresh and prevent burnout.

This tool pairs that proven method with a clean, autosaving notepad so you can capture ideas, draft text and keep a running to-do list in the same place you manage your focus sessions. Use the Timer mode for any custom countdown, or the Stopwatch to track how long a task actually takes.

Notes and timer settings are stored locally in your browser using its built-in storage. Nothing is uploaded, so your writing stays private and is here when you come back — as long as you use the same browser and do not clear its site data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my notes saved if I close the tab?
Yes. Notes and settings are stored in your browser's local storage, so they will be there when you return in the same browser. To keep a permanent copy, use Backup to download a JSON file or export individual notes as .txt or .md.
Where are my notes stored?
Everything is stored locally on your device, never on a server. That keeps your writing private, but it also means clearing your browser data or using a different browser or device will not show the same notes. Use Backup regularly for safety.
How long is a Pomodoro session?
The classic Pomodoro is 25 minutes of focus followed by a 5-minute break, with a longer 15-30 minute break after four sessions. You can change all of these durations in Timer settings.
Will the timer keep running in the background?
Yes. The countdown is based on real clock time, so it stays accurate even if the tab is in the background. For an alert while you are on another tab, enable the desktop notification option.
Does Markdown preview support code and lists?
Yes. The preview renders headings, bold and italic text, inline code and code blocks, bullet and numbered lists, blockquotes, links and horizontal rules.
Is it really free?
Completely free with no sign-up, no watermarks and no limits on the number of notes. It also works offline once the page has loaded.
