What Is Image & PDF Redaction?

Redaction is the process of permanently removing confidential or private information from a document before sharing it. Drawing a black rectangle in a normal editor is not secure — the text underneath often remains selectable, searchable, or recoverable.

This tool does real redaction: it renders your image or each PDF page to pixels, burns the redaction marks directly into those pixels, and rebuilds the output from the flattened result. Is the redacted text really removed, or just hidden?

It is genuinely removed. The tool converts your page to an image, paints the redaction marks onto those pixels, and exports from the flattened image. No selectable or recoverable text remains beneath the marks.

Can I redact a multi-page PDF?
